Student Type: All undergraduate, all graduate. The Provost Fund for Student Collaboration (PFSC) supports extracurricular academic collaborations that bring together students from at least three Harvard schools to explore a particular subject. The distinguishing characteristic of this fund is its devotion to academic enterprises (as opposed to primarily social, advocacy-based, or charitable activities). The fund is intended to enable students interested in a particular area of intellectual inquiry to explore that area with students enrolled in other schools. These one-year grants support specific activities, and do not provide continuing support.

Student Type: All Student Groups. Student Group Grants are awarded to Undergraduate Student Organizations, Graduate Student Organizations, University-wide student organizations, and Graduate Special Groups working with a Harvard faculty member for publications, workshops, conferences, and/or events at Harvard University related to Latin America, the Caribbean, or Latinx populations in the United States.

Student Type: All undergraduate, all graduate. Harvard’s Presidential Public Service Fellowship (PPSF) program supports a broad range of summer opportunities that serve the common good. Selected Fellows are involved in meaningful projects that affect communities across the United States. They are active in programs that focus on education, the arts, and government; work in social services and human rights organizations; and seek improved outcomes in health, the environment, and the justice system.

Student Type: Undergraduate. The Harvard Global Health Institute (HGHI) offers returning Harvard undergraduates in good standing the opportunity to participate in paid summer research and internship placements on the Harvard campus as well as across the world. These opportunities connect classroom knowledge and skills to the complex issues in the field. They range from placements in laboratories and research groups, to field work with hospitals and community health clinics, to office-based internships with NGOs and international organizations.

Student Type: All undergraduate, all graduate. The Wellbeing Project Fund grant is a one-time, nonrenewable grant awarded to selected projects that embrace one or more principles of the Center for Wellness and Health Promotion’s Wellbeing Framework to promote emotional, environmental, intellectual, physical, relational, spiritual, and vocational wellbeing.

Student Type: Undergraduate. The SEAS Student Organization Funding Program supports the activities of undergraduate SEAS-Affiliated Student Organizations. Funds may be awarded for community building and social events, group projects, competition funding, and more.

Student Type: Undergraduate. Funding can be used to support a speaker series; study groups; special seminars with faculty or visiting scholars; conferences with an explicit undergraduate focus; and other programs related to international affairs that directly benefit the Harvard undergraduate community.

Student Type: Undergraduate. The SEAS Nectar Funding offers project support (space, mentoring, and funding) for SEAS-affiliated individuals pursuing non-academic engineering projects.

Student Type: All Undergraduates. The Arthur Liman Public Interest Law Summer Fellowship Program supports the work of students from six universities, all of whom work to respond to problems of inequality and to improve access to justice.

Student Type: All Undergraduates. The Harvard Clubs Summer Community Service Fellowship (SCSF) Program supports Harvard undergraduates seeking to work on public service projects in one of several communities across the country.

Student Type: All Undergraduates. Students approved by the Student Employment office for Summer Work-Study can propose a summer fellowship at a non-profit organization and be paid through federal work study.

Student Type: HBS Graduate Student. Tough Tech ventures are those working on transformative technology that solves the world’s most important challenges through the convergence of breakthrough science, engineering, and leadership.

Student Type: Student Organizations. The center provides small grants (typically up to $1000) to officially recognized Harvard student organizations for publications, conferences, and events that address the business-government interface.

Student Type: HLS Student. The Selection Committee invites any Harvard Law School 3L or J.D. alumnus to apply for a seed grant to support a proposed organization that is in its initial stages and has few available funding sources. Candidates may apply individually or as a team.

Student Type: Student Organizations. The Joint Center for Housing Studies provides student groups with grants to support conferences, events, and service projects that, at least in part, focus on issues related to housing and community development.

Student Type: All students. The award can be used for a variety of activities including support for an internship or collaboration with other researchers having limited or no funds to support the participation of an award recipient.

Student Type: All Undergraduates. The Program for Research in Science and Engineering (PRISE) is a 10-week summer program that aims to build community and stimulate creativity among Harvard undergraduate researchers in the life, physical/natural, engineering and applied sciences.

The Joint Center for Housing Studies’ Thesis, PAE, and SYPA Research Grants provide up to $1,000 in funding to help offset research-related expenses for GSD students writing or preparing a master’s thesis, and HKS students writing or preparing a Policy Analysis Exercise (PAE) or Second Year Policy Analysis (SYPA) on a topic related to housing or community development.

Student Type: Undergraduate & Harvard Kennedy School. The Roy Family Environmental Summer Internship Program allows returning HKS students and Harvard College Students to craft their own internship for a public, private, or non-profit organization abroad or in the United States.

Student Type: Undergraduate. Fellows at the Forefront is an innovative summer program where students, scholars, practitioners, and activists work together on some of the most pressing issues of our time. This year’s cohort will focus on climate change and the environment.

The Rappaport Public Policy Summer Fellowship challenges graduate students from across Greater Boston to immerse themselves in the region’s public sector through a dynamic summer internship experience. Now in its twenty-second year, the Public Policy Fellowship encourages students to apply their skills and passion for good governance to Greater Boston’s public policy challenges and inspires them to enter careers in public service.

Student Type: All Graduate Students. The David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies (DRCLAS) offers Conference Travel Grants which are awarded to graduate students who are traveling to conferences to present papers/research on Latin America.

Student Type: All undergraduate, all graduate. The Summer Research Travel Grant supports undergraduate and graduate or professional students conducting thesis or dissertation research related to Latin America and the Caribbean. Research proposals are accepted from all disciplines, but must be directly related to the region.

The Weatherhead Center is pleased to offer grants to support undergraduate field research or field experience in the areas of international relations, international trade and economic affairs, international development, international negotiation and dispute resolution, and global governance and affairs.

Student Type: HKS Graduate Student. The Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government helps to fund expenses associated with Policy Analysis Exercises and Second Year Policy Analyses (PAEs and SYPAs).

Student Type: All Undergraduates. The Weatherhead Center holds an annual competition to award fifteen to twenty travel grants to support the summer field research of Harvard undergraduates. These grants are designed to help finance travel in connection with senior thesis research on international affairs.

Student Type: GSD Graduate Students. The GSD Student Conference Attendance Fund, administered by Student Forum, supports GSD students in attending conferences relevant to their research interests and/or coursework.

Student Type: HKS Graduate Students. CID awards modest travel stipends on a competitive basis to HKS Masters students who travel over J-Term for policy analysis research related to enterprise solutions in international development. The travel stipends can be used to cover related expenses, including but not limited to: transportation, lodging, food, and travel documents.
