
Sujata Saunik
Sujata Saunik is an Indian Administrative Service officer and Principal Secretary to the Government of Maharashtra. She has extensive experience in public health, particularly addressing issues affecting adolescents, women, and children from marginalized populations. She has led initiatives on maternal and child nutrition, stunting, and healthcare quality, including policies on Maternal and Infant and Young Child Nutrition and the Kayapalat initiative to transform primary healthcare. Previously, she served as Advisor and Joint Secretary at the National Disaster Management Authority, focusing on disaster preparedness, capacity building, and international collaborations, including NDRF training and deployment for UN exercises.
The Salata Institute
The Salata Institute supports interdisciplinary research that leads to real-world action, including high-risk/high-reward projects by researchers already working in the climate area and new endeavors that make it easier for Harvard scholars, who have not worked on climate problems, to do so.
