Leading Equitable Change for Climate Action
Classroom Session - In-Person Only

As climate change accelerates, people who have historically emitted the least, are feeling some of the most severe impacts. In the United States, some communities are already struggling – never building back – after climate disasters strike.

Historic and present injustice threatens the lives of millions through exposure to pollution, toxins, disasters, heat, and other impacts already borne by low-income people, tribal communities, immigrant communities, and communities of color. On the other side of the coin, many benefits and incentives in the IRA – from EVs to housing – are more difficult for these communities to implement and benefit from.

And looking to the future, workers who powered the last century of economic growth face upheaval and uncertainty in the next one, as the economy transitions away from fossil fuels.

Harvard Climate Action Week to explore solutions to the climate crisis that include rather than exclude and to consider how climate policies can better advance climate justice. Hear from communities at the front line of climate change, and the community members who are shaping the response.
