During October 2026, Dr. Dan Schrag, Co-Director of the Belfer Center's Science, Technology and Public Policy Program, and clean energy entrepreneur Michael Skelly will host four discussions on carbon-free energy and the U.S. electric grid. The reading list introduces four practical debates shaping renewable energy development. The selections favor journalistic essays, policy explainers, and case studies written for highly educated readers who do not need a strong foundation in electricity policy.

Session One: Nuts and Bolts of renewable Energy Project Development
Discussion Focus: Land, resources, outreach, interconnection, and the roles of counties, states, utilities, regional grid operators, and federal agencies.

This reading group is open to all Harvard University ID holders.
