Protecting Young Children From the Impacts of Wildfires

Monday, Sep 08, 2025, 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Wildfire smoke is becoming an increasingly common part of childhood in many parts of the US. While often associated with remote or forested areas, wildfires are increasingly happening in urban settings—such as the January 2025 fires in Los Angeles—and the smoke can travel thousands of miles, remaining highly toxic.

You're invited to join the Center on the Developing Child on September 8 at Noon ET for a live discussion on how wildfire smoke affects young children and how the LA Fire HEALTH Study is working to better understand the short- and long-term health impacts.

Our panelists will share emerging findings and discuss how these insights can guide efforts to reduce exposure, support children and caregivers, and protect healthy development.
