High-quality data, available through transparent channels, is essential in efforts to reduce methane emissions. The quantity, quality, and transparency of data on emissions has increased dramatically in just the last few years. New satellites, including MethaneSat and Tanager-1, along with rapidly improving aerial and ground-based detection, are ushering in a new era of possibility for emissions reduction. Panelists – from Harvard, industry, and the NGO community – will discuss these developments and how we might achieve progress even in a challenging policy environment.
