Science Center Hall C
More about this event, provided by Harvard Undergraduate Clean Energy Group (HUCEG): "Community relationships are crucial in driving the growth of offshore wind. As America begins our most critical infrastructure mobilization, large companies and utility scale projects must be mindful of communities and involve them in decision-making as it directly impacts the implementation of sustainable practices. We could not be more excited about this intersectional panel with Klaus Skoust Møller and Skylah Reis. Klaus Skoust Møller is the CEO of Vineyard Wind and Partner at Copenhagen Offshore. For nine years, Klaus was the senior program director for DONG Energy, helping transition it to Ørsted: one of the world’s largest clean energy companies. He comes to Vineyard Wind with more than a decade of experience in the offshore wind industry. Skylah Reis (‘21) is starting her PhD this September on the ecology of offshore energy platforms at the University of California, Santa Barbara. She is a New Bedford local, committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all of her work. She is the founder and Co-director of Captain's Academy, a young women in STEM program for aspiring marine scientists and mariners on Nantucket Island. Skylah plans to work at the intersection of ocean science, climate change mitigation and environmental justice."
