Vimal Mishra
Vimal Mishra is the Vikram Sarabhai Chair Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar, in Civil Engineering and Earth Sciences. His research examines the impacts of climate variability and change on water resources, energy, infrastructure, and food security. By integrating observational and remotely sensed data with large-scale hydrologic modeling, he investigates key questions on climate extremes, monsoon variability, and their effects on human and societal systems. His work combines historical observations, climate projections, and advanced modeling techniques to understand human-climate interactions.
The Salata Institute
The Salata Institute supports interdisciplinary research that leads to real-world action, including high-risk/high-reward projects by researchers already working in the climate area and new endeavors that make it easier for Harvard scholars, who have not worked on climate problems, to do so. Faculty interested in the Climate Research Clusters program should note an upcoming deadline for concepts on April 1, 2024.
