
Victor Ongoma
Victor is an Assistant Professor of Climate Change Adaptation at the International Water Research Institute of Mohammed VI Polytechnic University in Morocco since 2021. His research focuses on climate change, climate services, and sustainable development over Africa. He is currently working on the application of climate information in closing crop yield gap, and conservation of Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Sites (GIAHS) in Morocco. Prior to joining UM6P, Victor was a lecturer of Physical Geography at the University of the South Pacific, Fiji. Victor has collaborated and published widely, mainly focusing on climate extremes over Africa.
The Salata Institute
The Salata Institute supports interdisciplinary research that leads to real-world action, including high-risk/high-reward projects by researchers already working in the climate area and new endeavors that make it easier for Harvard scholars, who have not worked on climate problems, to do so. Faculty interested in the Climate Research Clusters program should note an upcoming deadline for concepts on April 1, 2024.
