
Shabnam Bassi
Ms. Shabnam Bassi is the Deputy CEO & Secretary with the GRIHA Council and Director of Sustainable Buildings at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI). Prior to her current roles, she spent nearly five years with the United Nations Development Programme as Assistant Project Manager, focusing on energy efficiency in the buildings sector. Her work involved coordinating with Central, State, and Municipal bodies to facilitate integration and strengthen enforcement of the Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC). Additionally, she has developed rules and regulation frameworks for ECBC implementation and demonstration projects for ECBC compliance. Shabnam also worked with the Bureau of Energy Efficiency for five years, promoting energy efficiency in commercial buildings and collaborating with various international agencies to enhance government policies related to building energy efficiency.
The Salata Institute
The Salata Institute supports interdisciplinary research that leads to real-world action, including high-risk/high-reward projects by researchers already working in the climate area and new endeavors that make it easier for Harvard scholars, who have not worked on climate problems, to do so. Faculty interested in the Climate Research Clusters program should note an upcoming deadline for concepts on April 1, 2024.
