
Reema Nanavaty
Reema Nanavaty joined the Self Employed Women’s Association (SEWA) in 1984 and became General Secretary in 1999. Today, she is SEWA’s Executive Director, overseeing organizing and development of the trade union’s 3.2 million members. She also serves on the World Bank’s Advisory Council on Gender and has contributed to high-level global commissions on labor, energy, and sustainable development. In 2013, she was honoured by the Government of India with the Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award.
The Salata Institute
The Salata Institute supports interdisciplinary research that leads to real-world action, including high-risk/high-reward projects by researchers already working in the climate area and new endeavors that make it easier for Harvard scholars, who have not worked on climate problems, to do so. Faculty interested in the Climate Research Clusters program should note an upcoming deadline for concepts on April 1, 2024.
