Prima Madan
Prima Madan leads the cooling and energy efficiency work for the India program at NRDC, focusing on policies to reduce emissions from air conditioning, refrigeration, and fluorinated chemicals. Her work includes promoting energy-efficient air conditioners, passive cooling technologies, and building energy efficiency policies, while also supporting initiatives on air pollution and extreme heat. With over 15 years of experience in energy and climate change projects, she previously worked at the International Institute for Energy Conservation, where she managed key projects and helped design financing mechanisms under India’s National Mission for Enhanced Energy Efficiency.
The Salata Institute
The Salata Institute supports interdisciplinary research that leads to real-world action, including high-risk/high-reward projects by researchers already working in the climate area and new endeavors that make it easier for Harvard scholars, who have not worked on climate problems, to do so. Faculty interested in the Climate Research Clusters program should note an upcoming deadline for concepts on April 1, 2024.
