Oona Gaffney is a Program Manager at The Salata Institute for Climate and Sustainability. Her background is in environmental science with specific interests in food systems and food policy. Prior to joining Harvard in 2022, she served as an Administrative Assistant in the Office of Senator Sal DiDomenico. In this role she researched and wrote on key legislative issues, attended legislative briefings and hearings, provided constituent support, and helped to manage the Office’s website and communications. She also previously, worked at MIT’s Abdul Latif Jameel Water and Food Systems Lab (J-WAFS) as a Communications and Project Assistant. In this role Oona was responsible for creative content creation, assisting with grant management, and helped to plan J-WAFS’s long-term social media and communications strategy. She holds a B.S. in Environmental Science from Northeastern University as well as an M.S. in Environmental Science and Policy from Northeastern University.
The Salata Institute
The Salata Institute supports interdisciplinary research that leads to real-world action, including high-risk/high-reward projects by researchers already working in the climate area and new endeavors that make it easier for Harvard scholars, who have not worked on climate problems, to do so. Faculty interested in the Climate Research Clusters program should note an upcoming deadline for concepts on April 1, 2024.
