Nitya Basrur
Nitya Basrur is a graduate student at Harvard Graduation School of Education working to develop an embodied method of research and education that incorporates anti-oppressive frameworks and principles of relationality towards strong collective climate action. She holds a BA in Combined Humanities with a minor in Education Studies from Azim Premji University.
Back in India, as an educator researcher she has led and facilitated diverse groups at classroom, school, university and community levels with Teach For India, Azim Premji Foundation, HasiruDala and as a consultant through EmbEd. Her focus is on education towards perspective, behavioural and action based shifts to build connected, equitable, and resilient communities. She also enjoys cooking, trekking, diving, snorkelling and board games!
The Salata Institute
The Salata Institute supports interdisciplinary research that leads to real-world action, including high-risk/high-reward projects by researchers already working in the climate area and new endeavors that make it easier for Harvard scholars, who have not worked on climate problems, to do so. Faculty interested in the Climate Research Clusters program should note an upcoming deadline for concepts on April 1, 2024.
