Natalia Thorup
Natalia Thorup is a Peruvian-American Master of Science student in Environmental Health at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. With experience in biomedical research at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies and academic degrees in International Relations and Biology, she brings an interdisciplinary perspective to her work. Natalia has worked with grassroots public health organizations in Nairobi, Kenya, and with Socios en Salud (Partners in Health) in Lima, Peru, where she connected community-driven approaches with scientific innovation through both local engagement and policy-driven frameworks. Natalia seeks to work with evidence-based, multisectoral interventions to address climate challenges and promote sustainable health outcomes. In her free time, she enjoys reading, politics, camping, and anything that gets her outdoors in nature.
The Salata Institute
The Salata Institute supports interdisciplinary research that leads to real-world action, including high-risk/high-reward projects by researchers already working in the climate area and new endeavors that make it easier for Harvard scholars, who have not worked on climate problems, to do so. Faculty interested in the Climate Research Clusters program should note an upcoming deadline for concepts on April 1, 2024.
