Laura is a senior at Harvard College concentrating in Economics with a secondary in Environmental Science and Public Policy. During her time at Harvard, she has been active in the undergraduate Latine community as President of Latinas Unidas and an Executive Director of the Latina Empowerment and Development Conference. Off-campus, she has worked across the public and private sectors, working on environmental initiatives in programming, policy, research, and grantmaking at World Wildlife Fund, Environmental Defense Fund, Xpansiv Inc., Azolla Ventures, Avangrid, the U.S. Senate, and BlackRock Social Impact. She is passionate about a variety of climate areas, including environmental justice, offshore wind, grid and transmission capacity, land conservation, indigenous environmental reclamation, and international environmental accords.
The Salata Institute
The Salata Institute supports interdisciplinary research that leads to real-world action, including high-risk/high-reward projects by researchers already working in the climate area and new endeavors that make it easier for Harvard scholars, who have not worked on climate problems, to do so. Faculty interested in the Climate Research Clusters program should note an upcoming deadline for concepts on April 1, 2024.
