
Jyoti Macwan
Jyoti Macwan is the Secretary-General of the Self-Employed Women’s Association (SEWA). With SEWA since 1992, she has played a key role in organizing women workers, particularly in the tobacco industry, in Kheda and Anand districts. She led efforts to mobilize 170,000 women across 600 villages, focusing on securing full employment and social security services such as childcare and healthcare. Elected as Secretary by SEWA’s 600,000 members, she now oversees the activities of 1.9 million members across various sectors.
The Salata Institute
The Salata Institute supports interdisciplinary research that leads to real-world action, including high-risk/high-reward projects by researchers already working in the climate area and new endeavors that make it easier for Harvard scholars, who have not worked on climate problems, to do so. Faculty interested in the Climate Research Clusters program should note an upcoming deadline for concepts on April 1, 2024.
