Jeanne Sorin
Jeanne Sorin Le Guével’s research lies at the intersection of development, urban and spatial, and environmental economics. Jeanne leverages a variety of tools—from quantitative spatial models to randomized controlled trials—to study challenges faced by developing cities. In ongoing projects in Uganda, Indonesia, and India, she focuses on transportation, infrastructure, and environmental hazards.
Jeanne will spend the 2025–2026 academic year as a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute for Climate and Sustainable Growth at the University of Chicago, where she is currently completing her PhD in Economics. In July 2026, she will join the Goldman School of Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley, as an assistant professor
The Salata Institute
The Salata Institute supports interdisciplinary research that leads to real-world action, including high-risk/high-reward projects by researchers already working in the climate area and new endeavors that make it easier for Harvard scholars, who have not worked on climate problems, to do so. Faculty interested in the Climate Research Clusters program should note an upcoming deadline for concepts on April 1, 2024.
