
Heenaben Dave
Heenaben joined SEWA in 1994 as a field worker in Surendranagar district, where she was involved in managing the Child Care Centre and organizing the women’s Savings Groups. Following the 2001 earthquake, she led the Naya Ghar rehabilitation program. Her work has spanned several areas, including watershed development, providing training for alternative employment, starting microenterprises, managing water campaigns, and constructing rainwater harvesting systems and well recharges. She has also served as the district coordinator and, since 2009, as the Director of RUDI. Since 2011, Heenaben has represented SEWA on the IUF committee of International Agriculture Labour and is responsible for organizing women workers in Rajkot and Assam.
The Salata Institute
The Salata Institute supports interdisciplinary research that leads to real-world action, including high-risk/high-reward projects by researchers already working in the climate area and new endeavors that make it easier for Harvard scholars, who have not worked on climate problems, to do so. Faculty interested in the Climate Research Clusters program should note an upcoming deadline for concepts on April 1, 2024.
