
Gerry George
Gerry George is a specialist in cooling and energy efficiency with over six years of experience in climate change and energy policy. At NRDC, he focuses on sustainable cooling solutions, energy-efficient appliances, and cold-chain systems in developing countries. Previously, he worked at the Alliance for an Energy Efficient Economy, contributing to India’s Cooling Action Plan (2019) and developing a National Cooling Action Plan methodology, now being piloted globally. His work integrates insights from the public, private, and knowledge sectors to advance evidence-based energy policy and implementation.
The Salata Institute
The Salata Institute supports interdisciplinary research that leads to real-world action, including high-risk/high-reward projects by researchers already working in the climate area and new endeavors that make it easier for Harvard scholars, who have not worked on climate problems, to do so. Faculty interested in the Climate Research Clusters program should note an upcoming deadline for concepts on April 1, 2024.
