
Buddhi Marambe
Buddhi Marambe has over 36 years of academic experience at the Department of Crop Science, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. His work focuses on weed science, climate change adaptation, and food security. He is the President of the Weed Science Society of Sri Lanka and Chair of the National Invasive Species Specialist Group. Prof. Marambe has been a member of Sri Lanka’s delegation to UNFCCC climate negotiations since 2013. He has also served as a consultant to international organizations, including the World Bank, UNDP, FAO, and UNEP, on issues related to agriculture and climate resilience.
The Salata Institute
The Salata Institute supports interdisciplinary research that leads to real-world action, including high-risk/high-reward projects by researchers already working in the climate area and new endeavors that make it easier for Harvard scholars, who have not worked on climate problems, to do so. Faculty interested in the Climate Research Clusters program should note an upcoming deadline for concepts on April 1, 2024.
