
Biraj Patnaik
Biraj Patnaik is the Executive Director of National Foundation for India. Prior to joining NFI, he was the South Asia Director of Amnesty International. He was formerly the Principal Adviser to the Commissioners of the Indian Supreme Court in the landmark ‘right to food’ case for close to a decade. A well-known human rights activist, he has been part of many national and global campaigns, including the right to food campaign in India. Biraj co-founded the ‘Mitanin’ community health worker program that trained and deployed 70,000 health workers in Chhattisgarh.
The Salata Institute
The Salata Institute supports interdisciplinary research that leads to real-world action, including high-risk/high-reward projects by researchers already working in the climate area and new endeavors that make it easier for Harvard scholars, who have not worked on climate problems, to do so.
