Ashley Ward
Ashley Ward focuses on the health impacts of climate extremes and community resilience. She directs the Heat Policy Innovation Hub at Duke University’s Nicholas Institute for Energy, Environment & Sustainability, where she develops policy solutions to mitigate the effects of extreme heat on human health. At Duke, she continues to bridge science, data, policy, and community engagement to inform effective environmental policy solutions. Ashley has also worked on the Internet of Water Coalition, leading initiatives to modernize public agencies’ water data infrastructure.
The Salata Institute
The Salata Institute supports interdisciplinary research that leads to real-world action, including high-risk/high-reward projects by researchers already working in the climate area and new endeavors that make it easier for Harvard scholars, who have not worked on climate problems, to do so. Faculty interested in the Climate Research Clusters program should note an upcoming deadline for concepts on April 1, 2024.
