
Andreas Flouris
Andreas Flouris is a Professor of Physiology at the University of Thessaly, Greece, where he also chairs the graduate program “Military Fitness and Wellbeing.” He advises national and international organizations, including WHO and the European Union, on the health and productivity impacts of climate change and environmental factors. Dr. Flouris has contributed to climate adaptation efforts, occupational heat stress prevention, and policy development, with a focus on translating scientific evidence into action. Recognized globally, he was named to the 2023 TIME100 Next list and serves on the VinFuture Prize committee.
The Salata Institute
The Salata Institute supports interdisciplinary research that leads to real-world action, including high-risk/high-reward projects by researchers already working in the climate area and new endeavors that make it easier for Harvard scholars, who have not worked on climate problems, to do so. Faculty interested in the Climate Research Clusters program should note an upcoming deadline for concepts on April 1, 2024.
