Na An
Dr. An Na is a DrPH candidate at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She has worked in humanitarian health for more than a decade. She started her global health journey as a Gynaecologist/Obstetrician for Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) projects in Sierra Leone, Somaliland(Somalia), Pakistan, Ethiopia, and Afghanistan. She was the project coordinator of the sexual and reproductive health project in Manila, Philippines, and the country representative of MSF in China. She worked as a physician specialist delegate and as part of the hospital management team for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Yemen and Afghanistan since 2019. She started to advocate for climate change and sustainability after witnessing people’s lives in the fragile states heavily impacted by conflicts and climate change.
Before joining humanitarian work, Dr. An Na trained as a Gynaecologist/Obstetrician and worked as an attending physician at Peking University Cancer Hospital, Beijing, China. She holds an MD and Master of Science degree from Peking University and a Master of Public Health (MPH) from Johns Hopkins University.
The Salata Institute
The Salata Institute supports interdisciplinary research that leads to real-world action, including high-risk/high-reward projects by researchers already working in the climate area and new endeavors that make it easier for Harvard scholars, who have not worked on climate problems, to do so. Faculty interested in the Climate Research Clusters program should note an upcoming deadline for concepts on April 1, 2024.
