
Alejandro Saez Reale
Alejandro Saez Reale coordinates the Global Heat Health Information Network (GHHIN) and leads its Technical Support Unit at the World Meteorological Organization in Geneva, Switzerland. He specializes in climate action and urban planning, with experience in project design and management for organizations such as the Inter-American Development Bank and the United Nations Environment Program. Trained as an engineer, he holds master’s degrees in public policy and city planning, with research focused on urban heat islands, heat waves, and their impact on cities. Prior to his current role, he was Senior Coordinator of the Cities Program at CIPPEC, where he led projects on sustainable urban development, climate adaptation, and extreme heat resilience.
The Salata Institute
The Salata Institute supports interdisciplinary research that leads to real-world action, including high-risk/high-reward projects by researchers already working in the climate area and new endeavors that make it easier for Harvard scholars, who have not worked on climate problems, to do so. Faculty interested in the Climate Research Clusters program should note an upcoming deadline for concepts on April 1, 2024.
