
Akshima Ghate
Akshima Ghate is the Director of RMI India, with extensive experience leading research, analysis, and partner engagement for both national and sub-national initiatives. She serves on the Expert Advisory Group of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways of the Government of India, advising on electric vehicles, alternative fuels, and other related topics in the road transport sector. Recognized globally, Akshima was named in the ‘2022 Remarkable Women in Transport’ by TUMI and the Women Mobilize Women Initiative for her contributions to electric mobility. Previously, she was a Senior Fellow and Associate Director at the Transport and Urban Governance Division of The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), New Delhi, where she led policy research studies promoting sustainable transport systems.
The Salata Institute
The Salata Institute supports interdisciplinary research that leads to real-world action, including high-risk/high-reward projects by researchers already working in the climate area and new endeavors that make it easier for Harvard scholars, who have not worked on climate problems, to do so. Faculty interested in the Climate Research Clusters program should note an upcoming deadline for concepts on April 1, 2024.
