
Abhiyant Tiwari
Abhiyant Tiwari is the lead climate resilience and health consultant at NRDC India, specializing in environmental, climate, and disaster risks to public health. He works to advance evidence-based adaptation and mitigation policies, collaborating with academia, governments, and non-profits on public health research, policy development, and program evaluation. He played a key role in developing and implementing South Asia’s first Heat Action Plan in Ahmedabad in 2013 and has since worked with national and sub-national governments on scaling heatwave adaptation strategies across the region. He has contributed to national heatwave warning systems, air pollution risk communication, and COVID-19 surveillance solutions. He is a member of multiple technical expert groups, including those under India’s National Disaster Management Authority and the Global Heat Health Information Network.
The Salata Institute
The Salata Institute supports interdisciplinary research that leads to real-world action, including high-risk/high-reward projects by researchers already working in the climate area and new endeavors that make it easier for Harvard scholars, who have not worked on climate problems, to do so. Faculty interested in the Climate Research Clusters program should note an upcoming deadline for concepts on April 1, 2024.
