New Campus Exhibit: Decarbonizing Products – HBS Climate Research

In collaboration with Baker Library, the Business and Environment Initiative (BEI) has created a new exhibit with four display cases on campus, with three in Spangler and one in Chao. “Decarbonizing Products – HBS Climate Research” showcases products resulting from business leaders changing inputs, processes, and engagement to drive reduced greenhouse gas emissions.

The exhibit presents eye-catching, real-world examples of products that show that decarbonization is possible. Every product has a case study and/or a HBS podcast associated with it, highlighting research from faculty members Mike Toffel, Michael Parzen, George Serafeim, Willy Shih, Gunnar Trumbull, Rosabeth Moss Kanter, Shirley Lu, and Bob Kaplan.

The four display cases, organized by theme, explain the decarbonizing aspect of each showcased product. Themes and locations on campus include:

  • Food and agriculture, in Spangler lounge next to coffee station
  • Transportation, in the Spangler East Rotunda
  • The circular economy and building materials, outside of the new auditorium in Spangler 051
  • Athletics and sportswear, in the Chao lobby

The displays are meant to educate the HBS community and demonstrate the School’s leadership in climate research. They also expand the reach of faculty research beyond the physical presence of Baker Library.

The exhibit, developed by BEI in partnership with Baker Library and the support of Operations, will be on display through the end of the year.
