Today, the Salata Institute for Climate and Sustainability at Harvard University announced that Jennifer Caldwell and John Fisher will serve as Co-Chairs to the Salata Institute External Advisory Board. Caldwell and Fisher, who have served on the Board since its inception, bring significant experience, leadership, and energy to bear in their new roles.

Comprised of leading figures in climate finance, policy, and industry, the Salata Institute External Advisory Board has been hard at work deepening the Institute’s ability to expand climate research and education across Harvard and to drive climate solutions in key sectors. “John and Jennifer have the vision, experience, and enthusiasm to lead the Board as the Institute enters a new era of developing climate solutions,” said Jim Stock, Vice Provost for Climate and Sustainability and Director of the Salata Institute.

Caldwell, who manages a family foundation focusing on education and the climate crisis, leverages significant experience serving on national and local nonprofit boards. As a founding member of the board, her strategic thinking, organizational leadership, and cross-sector collaboration between higher education and the NGO sector have been invaluable.

Fisher, a professional venture capital investor since 1985, brings a global perspective as an investor, philanthropist, and board leader with a track record of supporting ambitious initiatives.

As the Salata Institute redoubles its efforts and seeks to expand its contributions in climate and sustainability, Board leadership is critical. Together, Fisher and Caldwell expand the Institute’s reach across philanthropy, business, and civic networks, opening doors to new partnerships and resources.
