Profile

Aliya Korganbekova is an assistant professor in the Accounting and Management Unit. She teaches the Financial Reporting and Control course in the MBA required curriculum. Professor Korganbekova's research focuses on accounting disclosure and regulation with an emphasis on sustainability and artificial intelligence. Some of her work explores the real and spillover effects arising from state-level GHG reduction regulations. Professor Korganbekova holds a Ph.D. in Accounting from Boston University, an M.A. in Economics from Central European University, and a B.A. and M.A. in Economics from Lomonosov Moscow State University. Prior to pursuing her Ph.D., she worked as an auditor at KPMG.
