Thermodynamics

Description

Fundamental concepts and formalisms of conservation of energy and increase of entropy as applied to natural and engineered environmental and biological systems. In addition to lectures, pedagogical approach includes real-world observations and applications through student presentations and projects.
Course Notes: E-PSCI 112 is also offered as ES 112. Students may not take both for credit. Undergraduate engineering students should enroll in ES 112. This course fulfills the EPS sub-discipline requirement of Atmosphere(s) and Oceans. Total class capacity of 18 includes students in both ES 112 and E-PSCI 112.
