Salata Institute Hosts Second Semesterly Student Meeting
The Salata Institute held a second convening of over 50 students representing more than 30 climate and sustainability student organizations across Harvard University. Attendees heard updates from the Salata Institute and student organization representatives and provided valuable feedback to the Salata Institute.

Pride Edition: Climate Fresk at Harvard

Salata Institute Climate Collaboration Grant Program
The Salata Institute’s Climate Collaboration Grant Program supports student organizations across Harvard University which jointly undertake climate-focused initiatives. The purpose of the Program is to encourage student groups with a shared interest in climate change to work with one another and to foster collaborative projects that enrich student learning and contribute to the University’s efforts to meet the global climate challenge. Projects awarded through this program are eligible for funding up to $7,000.

HUCE Climate Leaders Program
In January, two dozen Indigenous youth from across the circumpolar North visited Cambridge for the International Workshop on Indigenous Youth Leadership for the Changing Arctic. They joined Harvard Kennedy School students for the second half of IGA-67M: “Policy and Social Innovation for the Changing Arctic” for an intensive course in developing their own policy and social innovations to address issues in a region warming four times faster than the rest of the world.

Outspoken Narratives
Outspoken Narratives is a student-run nonprofit documentary studio focused on climate change storytelling. The studio specializes in creating short documentary films and has produced content on the Arctic Refuge, oil rig conversion, BC Vancouver deforestation, and environmental racism, among other topics. In the past the studio has worked with NGOs such as NOAA, OPS, Extinction Rebellion, and Conservationist Collective. They are currently accepting applications.
