The Harvard Environmental Economics Program and the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs at Harvard University will host a Climate Economics Pipeline Workshop on Tuesday June 20 at the Harvard Kennedy School in Cambridge, MA. This one-day workshop will focus on presentations by young economics scholars conducting research on climate change and climate change policy.

Doctoral students in economics, agricultural and resource economics, public policy, and other applied economics doctoral programs are invited to submit a paper for consideration for possible presentation at the workshop. Applications from women, members of groups that have been under-represented in the economics profession, individuals with disabilities, and veterans are strongly encouraged. Submissions are open to economic research in any field applied to a question related to climate change.

To submit a paper for consideration at the workshop, please complete this brief online application form. The submission deadline is April 15, 2023 and authors of selected papers will be contacted by May 1. The Weatherhead Center will cover lodging and travel expenses for workshop presenters.

The workshop’s organizers are grateful for the financial support from the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs at Harvard University, which is funding a series of climate pipeline workshops in economics, political science, and sociology with the goal of attracting more young scholars in these disciplines to address research questions related to climate change.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the workshop co-organizers, Joe Aldy (joseph_aldy@hks.harvard.edu) and Rob Stavins (robert_stavins@hks.harvard.edu).
