Apply now for this fund intended to advance faculty-led early-stage research projects towards realizing commercial potential.

The Harvard Climate and Sustainability Translational Fund. a joint program of the Office and Technology Development and the Salata Institute, is accepting funding proposals for faculty-led early-stage research projects towards realizing commercial potential through start-up formation or commercialization by a corporate partner. Guidelines for applying can be found here and the deadline for proposal submission is October 9, 2026. Funding of up to $100,000 per project will be provided.  Please see this webpage for the program description and application guidelines. We encourage you to submit a proposal, particularly for those projects with strong potential to serve as the basis of a start-up company. Often these projects are being driven by a postdoc or final-year PhD student who is interested in being a member of the founding startup team. Consideration will also be given to projects with goals of licensing the technology to an existing company.
