Salata Institute welcomes Zachary Bogue and Uday Khemka to its Advisory Board
At a moment of uncertainty and great opportunity for the energy transition and global climate resilience, the Salata Institute welcomes leaders with the experience and energy to accelerate solutions.
Zachary Bogue

Zachary Bogue is co-founder and managing partner of DCVC, a deep-tech venture capital firm. He brings more than 25 years of experience in Silicon Valley as an entrepreneur, venture capitalist, attorney, and angel investor. Since DCVC’s founding in 2010, Bogue has led or shared board responsibilities for transformational climate companies including Oklo, Fervo Energy, Planet Labs, and Pivot Bio, among others working across deep technology. The World Economic Forum named him a Young Global Leader in recognition of his leadership at the intersection of transformative technology and urgent global challenges.
Bogue graduated with honors from Harvard University with a concentration in Environmental Science and Public Policy and earned his J.D. with honors from Georgetown Law School.
As a graduate, Bogue believes deeply in the power of a Harvard education – and of Harvard leadership – in addressing the climate crisis. “My undergraduate concentration in Environmental Science and Public Policy at Harvard was transformative,” said Bogue. “It shaped my career and set me on a path of actively pursuing climate solutions, which led me to co-found DCVC. The Salata Institute brings together some of the world’s best thinking across disciplines at the University and turns it into solutions the planet can use.”
Bogue steps into this leadership role with optimism and vision for the role Harvard can play in driving meaningful climate and sustainability progress. “I hope to help the next generation make positive change at global scale.”
Uday Khemka

Uday Khemka is vice chairman of The Nand & Jeet Khemka Foundation and vice chairman of the SUN Group of Companies. He previously served as co-chair of the Clean Energy Finance Forum, senior climate advisor to the Institutional Investors Roundtable, a member of His Majesty King Charles III’s Sustainable Markets Council, and a commissioner of the Climate Capital Mobilization Accelerator.
Before joining the SUN Group, Khemka worked at Credit Suisse First Boston and Morgan Stanley in London and New York, where he established and led Morgan Stanley’s activities in India.
His philanthropic work includes service on the Board of Governors of the Indian School of Business and the Public Health Foundation of India, as well as the Board of Directors of the Synergos Institute in New York. He co-founded Just Giving and has served in leadership roles with Youth Reach and the Nabha Foundation.
Khemka was educated at Eton College and Cambridge University and received an MBA with distinction from Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar. He was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2005.
Khemka sees promise in the Salata Institute’s ability to engage a wide range of global stakeholders with the ability to reduce emissions and protect lives and livelihoods in the face of climate change. “The climate crisis will not be solved by any one of us acting alone. It demands that we set aside our egos and our boundaries and act together, strategically and at scale,” said Khemka. “The Salata Institute is positioned to serve as a meaningful hub, uniting Harvard’s research, its extraordinary global alumni community, and partners across the world.”
Looking to the future
Bogue and Khemka join the Salata Institute’s Advisory Board at a pivotal moment for climate action. Together with the Institute’s faculty, students, partners, and other board members, they will help foster collaboration and advance real-world solutions grounded in Harvard research and expertise.
