Advancing Climate Finance and Cooperation in a Changing World
Wednesday, Jun 24, 2026, 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
The Conduit, 6 Langley St, London
As geopolitical and economic pressures reshape the global climate landscape, sustaining momentum on climate action, and particularly climate finance, has become more challenging.
The Global Climate Policy Project at Harvard and MIT, supported by the Salata Institute and the MIT Climate Policy Center, will host a panel event exploring this challenge during London Climate Action Week 2026.
André Corrêa do Lago, COP30 President, will deliver a keynote address on the future of international climate cooperation, with a particular focus on climate finance and the Baku to Belém Roadmap. He will offer perspectives on advancing implementation through coordinated action across both public and private actors in an increasingly complex global environment.
Expert speakers including Catherine Wolfram (GCPP Co-Lead, MIT), Daouda Sembane (Founder and CEO, AfriCatalyst) and Ma Jun (Founder and President, IFS) will explore practical ways to scale climate finance, improve coordination, and maintain momentum in a complex geopolitical landscape. It will focus on collaboration between governments, industry, investors, and multilateral institutions to align climate ambition with economic resilience and debt sustainability, especially in emerging and developing economies. The discussion will also examine how international cooperation on climate policy, trade, and finance can mobilise investment, support country-led transitions, and strengthen long-term economic and energy security.
