Sarah Broghammer
Sarah Broghammer is a master’s student in the Education Policy and Analysis Program at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She is particularly interested in policy implementation and the intersections of education policy, international development, and climate change.
Sarah completed her undergraduate studies at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University in Minnesota, where she majored in English and communication. She was a
2022–2023 Fulbright English Teaching Assistant to Norway, where she worked in a high school and led a writing workshop at the University of Bergen. Most recently, Sarah worked in the Office of Admission at her alma mater, where she developed a strong interest in how high schools prepare students for postsecondary pathways.
Sarah is eager to engage with the Salata Institute to explore how education can empower young people to understand and respond to the climate crisis. She is particularly passionate about how schools and communities can build climate literacy and resilience through thoughtful policy and practice. She is also excited to collaborate with peers across the University to engage in meaningful conversations and advance innovative, interdisciplinary approaches to climate and education.
In her free time, you can find Sarah cross-country skiing, practicing yoga, or reading at a local coffee shop.
The Salata Institute
The Salata Institute supports interdisciplinary research that leads to real-world action, including high-risk/high-reward projects by researchers already working in the climate area and new endeavors that make it easier for Harvard scholars, who have not worked on climate problems, to do so. Faculty interested in the Climate Research Clusters program should note an upcoming deadline for concepts on April 1, 2024.
