Hailey Akey
Hailey Akey is a Junior at Harvard College studying Environmental Science & Public Policy and Economics, with a secondary in Global Health & Health Policy. She is interested in climate, health, and environmental justice.
Hailey is a research assistant at Harvard’s Climate Sociology Lab, studying the impact of Data Centers, as well as a research assistant at the Subnational Crop Yield Consortium, helping to digitize crop data for a variety of countries. She is also the co-director of the Environmental Action Committee, Harvard’s environmental service organization. She holds a variety of leadership positions in health organizations, bringing the climate perspective into the mix.
In her free time, Hailey enjoys exploring cafes, listening to and playing music, traveling, and spending time with friends.
The Salata Institute
The Salata Institute supports interdisciplinary research that leads to real-world action, including high-risk/high-reward projects by researchers already working in the climate area and new endeavors that make it easier for Harvard scholars, who have not worked on climate problems, to do so. Faculty interested in the Climate Research Clusters program should note an upcoming deadline for concepts on April 1, 2024.
