Sonam Rustagi
Sonam Rustagi is a first-year law student at Harvard Law School from Columbus, Ohio. Her
academic and professional interests center on soil and land management, environmental law,
climate policy, sustainable development, and issues related to trade, agriculture, carbon credits,
and energy. Before law school, Sonam earned her B.S. in Economics and Environmental Science
and her M.S. in Environmental Science from The Ohio State University, where she was a Udall
Scholar.
She has experience working across policy and regulatory spaces on sustainability, land
conservation, soil health, and climate-smart development. At Harvard, she is involved with the
Energy and Environmental Law Program and Harvard Food Law Society. She is excited to serve
as a Student Ambassador and be a point of connection for climate and sustainability on campus.
The Salata Institute
The Salata Institute supports interdisciplinary research that leads to real-world action, including high-risk/high-reward projects by researchers already working in the climate area and new endeavors that make it easier for Harvard scholars, who have not worked on climate problems, to do so. Faculty interested in the Climate Research Clusters program should note an upcoming deadline for concepts on April 1, 2024.
