Shirley Lu is an assistant professor in the Accounting and Management Unit. She teaches the Financial Reporting and Control course in the MBA required curriculum.
Professor Lu conducts research related to companies’ climate change disclosures. Her research examines the credibility and accountability of corporate emissions reduction targets, institutional frameworks that facilitate climate disclosures, and information signals that drive companies to invest in climate solutions. More broadly, she also examines corporate information transmission in sustainability topics related to employee safety and gender diversity.
Professor Lu earned a PhD in accounting and an MBA from the University of Chicago. She earned a BS in accounting and finance, and a MS in accounting, both from New York University.
