Max Genin
Max Genin is a Ukro-Canadian-Israeli development advocate, lawyer, and human rights leader. He is
pursuing an ALM in Global Development Practice at Harvard University, where he chairs the North
American Student Council for the UN’s Global MDP Association, promoting student
interconnectedness and capacity-building across 35 universities. As a Board Member of the UN
Human Rights and the Education Above All Foundation Youth Advisory Board, Max develops programs
like the Youth Rights Academy, empowering youth in conflict-affected regions such as Colombia,
Palestine, and South Africa.
Max is also the Executive Director of Afflican, an organization fostering grassroots development
projects that empower young people as agents of change, particularly in North and South America and
Europe. His work has spanned running development programs with the Government of Canada, writing
education policy, to advocacy on international platforms such as at the United Nations. Fluent in
multiple languages, Max’s leadership and dedication to global development and human rights
exemplify his commitment to driving positive change globally.
The Salata Institute
The Salata Institute supports interdisciplinary research that leads to real-world action, including high-risk/high-reward projects by researchers already working in the climate area and new endeavors that make it easier for Harvard scholars, who have not worked on climate problems, to do so. Faculty interested in the Climate Research Clusters program should note an upcoming deadline for concepts on April 1, 2024.
