Alice Ferguson
Alice is a Senior at Harvard College living in Eliot House originally from Edinburgh, Scotland. She studies History and Government with a particular focus on U.S. national security and the history of U.S. intelligence services. Alice joined the Salata Institute as a way to engage her interest in climate and sustainability policy alongside the opportunity to connect with those working in the field across the university. She is passionate about elevating environmental issues to the forefront of national security conversations.
Aside from her role at the Salata Institute, Alice consults for the Harvard College Consulting Group and contributes to the Harvard History Magazine, the Tempus. She previously was part of the Harvard Global Health Institute, focusing on communication strategy and climate and health issues. Currently, she serves as a research assistant at the Belfer Center, supporting Professor Frederick Logevall on the second volume of his John F. Kennedy Biography. In her spare time, she enjoys art history, yoga, and exploring Boston’s food scene.
The Salata Institute
The Salata Institute supports interdisciplinary research that leads to real-world action, including high-risk/high-reward projects by researchers already working in the climate area and new endeavors that make it easier for Harvard scholars, who have not worked on climate problems, to do so. Faculty interested in the Climate Research Clusters program should note an upcoming deadline for concepts on April 1, 2024.
