Dylan Carlson Sirvent León
Dylan Carlson Sirvent León (he/him) is a Pre-Doctoral Research Fellow at Harvard’s Institute for Quantitative Social Science, working on the Strengthening Communities research cluster for the Salata Institute. He received his B.A. in Political Science in the Spring of 2024 from Yale University. For his undergraduate thesis, Dylan used ideal point estimation techniques to study voting patterns in Congress on environmental policy and discern the factors impeding congressional action on the climate crisis. He is excited to expand beyond Congress to explore what makes policy progress on the energy transition possible across different levels — local, regional, and national.
The Salata Institute
The Salata Institute supports interdisciplinary research that leads to real-world action, including high-risk/high-reward projects by researchers already working in the climate area and new endeavors that make it easier for Harvard scholars, who have not worked on climate problems, to do so. Faculty interested in the Climate Research Clusters program should note an upcoming deadline for concepts on April 1, 2024.
