To meet growing electricity demand and meet its climate targets, the U.S. will need to double its network of long-distance transmission lines and increase their capacity 25 percent over the next 20 years. Harvard faculty are producing new research to help navigate the technical, social, and political implications of this critical step in the energy transition.
